Data Protection Statement Concerning the Job Application Procedure

1. Handling your application data properly is important to us. The following explanatory notes are concerning the protection of the applicant's data by the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, hereinafter called the Swiss TPH.
Should you have specific questions concerning your job application as an employee or a contractor, please contact our HR team.
2. If you apply for a job with us, we will ask you to provide us with personal data, such as your name, your contact data and information on your career (CV). Apart from this mandatory information, you may also wish to provide us with additional information. You must register as a user on this website by entering a personal user name and password.
3. The information you provide is used solely for processing your application. Your information may be shared within the Swiss TPH for this purpose. Access to your data is restricted to personnel designated by Swiss TPH, who are entitled thereto due to their functions, and to the managers who are responsible for the job vacancies. Your details will not be passed on to companies or individuals outside of the Swiss TPH.
Beyond that, Swiss TPH may also use your personal data from the application process for an employment relationship for other potential positions at Swiss TPH, i.e. not only in connection with the position for which you are applying. If your profile should fit another position within Swiss TPH, our HR team will contact you accordingly.
4. At the end of the regular application process for a specific employment relationship, we reserve the right to contact you separately and to add you to one of our applicant pools if you do not object to this. As such, our recruiters will regularly check whether your profile fits another vacancy and if this is the case, contact you.
5. You have the option to view, correct, update and withdraw your data any time, logging in with your chosen password. If you do not agree to remain in our applicant pool or with the retention of your data after you have not been selected for a position or if you are no longer interested in being employed by our institute, you have the possibility to delete your profile in our registration website at any time.
6. We will retain your personal data for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected or for as long as we are required to do so by applicable laws, regulations or contractual agreements. We delete personal data we no longer need.
If we cannot offer you the position you have applied for after the application process has been completed, we will retain your personal data for up to 24 months and delete it 24 months after the application process has ended without further notice.
If you have been selected for a pooling, your data will be deleted after 36 months.
7. Please note that your data is stored on the server of a Swiss TPH authorised service provider in Switzerland. Your IP address and the type and version of your web browser will be registered each time you visit this site. The IP address provides information about your domain name, but not about any other personal information. This information will be used solely for statistical purposes as well as to resolve technical problems. We have set up cookies during login to enhance ease of use.
8. An automatically activated 128-bit encryption will ensure the secure transmission of your data. General standards for data security are taken into account for data transmission and processing according to current state-of-the-art technology.
9. By confirming the appropriately labelled button, you agree to processing data in accordance with this Statement. Your consent will be logged.
